Synopsis Anime
Dalam cerita ini, Armada Kabut yang penuh dengan senjata super tiba-tiba muncul di seluruh dunia. Tanpa kemampuan untuk menahan armada ini, umat manusia dikalahkan dan tak bisa lagi melintasi laut. 17 tahun setelah perang laut yang dahsyat, Chihaya Gunzou dan teman-temannya entah bagaimana mengomandoi sebuah kapal selam Armada Kabut dan menamakannya I-401. Bersama dengan Iona, mereka menghadapi Armada Kabut.
