Di masa depan, komputer pribadi telah berkembang menjadi “Persocoms,” komputer mobile yang mirip seperti manusia. Hideki Motosuwa, seorang siswa sekolah, sangat ingin membeli Persocom tetapi tidak mampu karena tidak punya uang. Suatu hari, ia menemukan Persocom yang telah dibuang dan memutuskan untuk menyimpannya. Ketika ia menyalakan Persocom, yang bisa dikatakan alat itu adalah “Chii” sehingga ia memutuskan untuk memberikan nama itu padanya. Setelah beberapa saat semakin jelas kemampuan Chii lebih dari rata-rata Persocom.
